changes

The past two weeks have brought about several big changes in our neck of the woods. Davis officially got a job!! YAY! We are really excited and very relieved. We started the job hunt last fall and with the tough economy, dental jobs have become hard to find and very competitive. So we are very glad to be done with interviews, resumes, and follow ups.
Davis got a job just outside of Suffolk, Va, which is about 45 minutes from the beach. We are looking at homes in Suffolk and are considering building a new one since we have some time before we move, but we'll see. The job is everything we were looking for, except not here in Midlothian. We tried so hard to stay here and really wanted too. (still do!!) but with so many dentists around Midlo, they're struggling and can't afford an associate. Anyways, the pic above we gave to the office to use in their advertising for Davis. The pay is almost double other jobs we were considering, has an existing patient pool from the previous associate Davis will walk in with, and has great future potential as far as partnership.
Gavin and papa in their nice dress up shirts. I got this shirt for Gavin for Easter. It's a little big on him, but super cute!

Gavin is such a cutie. He's so fun and busy and learns new things everyday. He recently learned what a cookie is and now asks for a "cookie" non-stop every day! lol good thing we convinced him animal crackers are cookies! have you noticed half the pics I post of Gavin are of him sitting? that's because that's the only time he'll hold still!
After we accepted the job offer, we got our home ready and on the market a few days later. Let me tell you, we had a few pretty intense days of cleaning, packing, and working around the house to get it ready. wow. but i have to say, it looks really good! we had our first showing on Saturday, which was really weird. we were a little creeped out by having complete strangers going through our closets and every nook and cranny in our house.
and spring is here! the trees are budding and the flowers are starting to bloom. LOVE this time of year here! I'm going to miss it :(

Congratulations! I am so glad that the job turned out. And by the way, looked up your home listing and it is so cute! Looks great! Haha! I never really thought about how the owners feel when we look through their homes... guess we are on the other side of that. I'm so glad that everything worked out. :) Although, I do wish that it was closer to us... :(

Congratulations on finding a job! It took us a while to find one as well, and is very nerve wracking! I'm sure your glad that process is over with! Good luck selling your house. I remember when I was little it took 3 years to sell our house and "realtor clean" became a bad word! Good luck with everything and congrats again!
