a carrot and a stick horse

While i was getting my hair cut the other day, Davis took Gavin to the dollar store where Gavin saw and fell in love with a stick horse. Gavin doesn't know names of most of the animals yet, so he when he sees an animal he makes the sound they make. So in the dollar store, he said, "neigh neigh" over and over and over and over. So the stick horse got to ride in Gavin's car seat on the way home.  And as you can see, he LOVES his stick horse! Above he's giving it a kiss. (stupid camera focused on the bucket instead of Gavin)
And he bites the poor horse.
And then tells the horse who's boss! jk He just loves to smash it against his face. I don't know why. Gavin doesn't know how to "ride" a stick horse, so he drags it around by the end with the head on the ground. It's pretty funny!
Today I was grating carrot sticks for dinner and gave one to Gavin to entertain him while I cooked. Rolling and tossing the carrot around the kitchen entertained him for a good 10 minutes. I had no idea a carrot could be so much fun.
And this is my favorite shot of Gavin today. See that cute dimple? He's going to be such a heart breaker! Oh and check out his hair, he's going blonde! He looks so completely different than he did a few months ago with dark hair. His eyebrows are still dark, so he'll probably go back darker when he's older. Davis and I were both blonde as kids.

Graduation is in 2 weeks!! yay! Things are starting to wind down at school. Davis will be going back out to Windsor for a preceptorship at his job again next week. He really likes the practice and the people he's going to be working with. We feel so lucky! The only question now is when will our house sell? We had it painted this week to help it sell. It looks tons better! Now we just need to find a buyer. Fortunately, Davis can commute to work if it doesn't sell soon. But we're crossing our fingers because commuting 75 minutes each way isn't fun.

I'm almost 15 weeks along now. Still really sick. Starting to show a little, but it's the awkward stage where if you don't know me, I just look a little fat. ugh. Oh well. I haven't pulled out the maternity clothes yet. Still fit my pants so I'll stick it out as long as I can.

First thing I thought when I saw that first picture was, "When did he become a blonde?!" Lucky boy looks adorable both ways!! :) Jack was that way too. Super dark at birth and gradually got lighter. He's completely blonde now. We'll see what happens as he grows up!!

Anyway, hope you start feeling better soon!! Being sick stinks, especially when you're the mom and you have to take care of everyone even though you feel awful. :(

A boy and his horse! So cute! One of Joels favorite things right now is Uncle Matt's and Grandpa's horses! Gavin is looking so grown up these days! Good luck with everything and I hope you feel better soon and that your house sells too!

Such a cute boy! I found your blog of Carin's and am so excited for your new changes - Congrats on the job and baby. Glad to see that Gavin is already learning how to control a horse:)- just like his cute mom.

Love,
Caroline
