my little mess maker

I swore my kids would never be messy. I was wrong. very wrong. Gavin is a certified "Triple M" (master mess maker :).  I used to think Davis was messy, but he's nothing compared to little man!

Last week Gavin found my stash of crackers by the bed. Normally I would never keep food in our bedroom, but stupid morning sickness (yes, I'm still dealing with it). Gavin found the crackers and used his newly acquired package opening skills to make a mess in oh, about 30 seconds. The sad thing is Davis and I were right there but Gavin was out of sight and didn't see it happening. After a few seconds of wondering why he was so quiet, this is what we found!

We gave Gavin his first piece of watermelon. He loved it as you can see by the look on his face!

We've tried to get Gavin to color for a few weeks now, but it didn't click until Sunday at nursery. He figured out how to grip the crayon well and draw. He told the leaders over and over "I color, I color". So now, he wants to constantly color. Even during meals.

He also loves to eat crayons. sigh. Why are toddlers so good at eating crayons but so bad at eating regular food? I mean, come on, a hamburger tastes better SO much better than wax!!

Gavin also loves to sing. The nursery leaders told us he sang really well on Sunday. Now if only we could understand what he says when he sings! lol


We are enjoying a few weeks off before Davis starts his job. It's been nice having him home and just hanging out. We finally decided on a 2nd car. We bought a 2010 Hyundai Tuscan. We love it! We got a stripped down model so it was very affordable, plus we got an awesome interest rate. I'll have to take pics of it. It's really cute! AND it's my car :) (although Davis likes to drive it just as much as I do) Plus it has A/C, a radio, AND doesn't leak when it rains....

I still haven't taken pics of the bump yet. I feel like a slacker, but it's easy to forget. Plus this pregnancy is going by 20 times faster than the first. I'm already 18 weeks along. crazy!! Still puking, but it's slowly getting better. The puking was supposed to stop 4 weeks ago.....if only.
